SUSTAINABILITY AND ENVIRONMENT

The Shute Harbour Marina Resort development occupies a truly special location, set amid the spectacular land and seascape of the Whitsundays and the Great Barrier Reef. From the outset, the project has been guided by a strong commitment to respecting its natural setting, protecting the area’s unique environmental values and enhancing the Whitsunday lifestyle.

Being the newest marina on the Queensland coastline, it is designed to meet latest stringent environmental standards. Careful site planning and construction methods have been adopted to minimise impacts on the surrounding marine environment and protect water quality.

Sustainability is integral to the marina’s long-term operation, with a focus on responsible marina management practices such as pollution prevention and the promotion of reef-safe boating. Ongoing environmental monitoring will support healthy marine ecosystems.

At the same time, the development aims to deliver lasting benefits for the local community by supporting tourism, employment, and sustainable access to the Whitsundays.
